1/12/2009Cast and Crew for Short Film TESTConcordia Seminary - St. Louis and DWard Media are seeking actors for the production of a short film based on the story by acclaimed author Walter Wangerin, Jr.: "The Ragman." The video will be shot on HDV with the RedRock Micro lens system at 24p – giving a great film-look to the finished work.
Roles: RagMan (Character begins young and virile. He ages and endures physical/emotional ailments and wounds – ending as a broken old man) Will (Businessman – anywhere from 25 to 55 years of age. This role requires brief implied nudity.) Woman (Must be able to cry.) Young Woman/Girl (could be a minor with parental/guardian accompaniment.) Man (one-armed man who gains his second arm.) Drunk (also sober.)

You are encouraged to read the short story before auditioning/interviewing. We will begin auditioning in January and shooting will take place in St. Louis (February/March/April). There will be 3 to 6 shooting dates, all exterior, both day and night. RagMan and Will needed at all shoots. Other characters needed for one day/night each. This is a no-budget film, so unfortunately there is no pay, but you will be fed and given a DVD copy of the finished film. The film will be featured on the Concordia Seminary iTunesU site, where there is an average 20,000 downloads per week. There is also expected exposure at film festivals. Previous works have won Emmys, Tellys, Auroras, and have been shown at local and national film festivals.
